On October 1, 2002, in a spin-off of NYK's Handy bulk carrier division, NYK Global Bulk began as one of the world's largest specialists in Handy bulk carriers. Our operating fleet consists of about 110 bulk carriers of the 20,000-ton to 50,000-ton deadweight class, and handles such diverse cargoes such as coal, copper concentrate, nickel, salt, cement, grain, fertilizer, lumber, forest products, wood pulp, coke, and other similar materials.
The know-how that we inherited from NYK's 120 years of experience enables us as Handy bulker specialists to smoothly meet the needs of shippers around the world. And we remain dedicated to making continuous and steady efforts to help customers as their needs evolve.
